The edition is expected to bring together 2,400+ exhibitors, over 600 international buyers from around 90 countries and more than five lakh visitors.

In his inaugural address, Shri Amit Shah positioned Uttar Pradesh as the heartbeat and the cultural soul of India and is rapidly emerging as a major growth engine of a developed India. Highlighting the state’s large consumer market, young workforce, agricultural strength, traditional industries and expanding manufacturing base, he underlined the role of infrastructure, enterprise and exports in unlocking the next phase of growth. His address also highlighted the expanding network of expressways, industrial corridors, logistics infrastructure and Noida International Airport as key enablers of connectivity and industrialisation.

Calling UPITS much more than an exhibition, Shri Shah described it as a common platform for trade, investment, technology, branding, knowledge exchange and cultural dialogue, where Uttar Pradesh’s traditional strengths stand alongside its modern industrial capabilities; also added, “Invest in India and invest in Uttar Pradesh. The state is becoming the heartbeat of India’s economic growth and a powerful growth engine of Viksit Bharat.”

The Home Minister further said, “The first edition introduced Uttar Pradesh. The second helped the world understand Uttar Pradesh. The third invited wider participation. The fourth is about contributing directly to Uttar Pradesh’s growth.”

He further stressed that the Government of Uttar Pradesh has not only developed a defence corridor but has also worked to promote its manufacturing, investment and employment potential. He said, “India’s defence production has reached approximately ₹1.78 lakh crore, with Indian defence products being exported to around 80 countries. The Government of Uttar Pradesh has not only developed a defence corridor but has also worked to promote its manufacturing, investment and employment potential.” Adds that India’s ambition of becoming a developed economy would be strengthened by economically vibrant states, observing that Uttar Pradesh has the capacity to contribute substantially through MSMEs, manufacturing, exports, entrepreneurship and employment creation. He expressed confidence that UPITS 2026 would create new business agreements, investment opportunities and international collaborations.

Welcoming international delegations, buyers, exhibitors and industry representatives, Chief Minister Shri Yogi Adityanath described UPITS as a reflection of Uttar Pradesh’s aspirations, capabilities and changing development journey — a platform where the talent of its districts connects with global demand, craftsmanship meets modern technology, MSMEs connect with investment, and the vision of a new Uttar Pradesh aligns with the national goal of Viksit Bharat.

The Chief Minister highlighted that Uttar Pradesh is advancing rapidly in MSME excellence, manufacturing capacity and exports, with exports reaching approximately ₹2 lakh crore. More than 600 international buyers from over 90 countries are participating, demonstrating the global trust that Uttar Pradesh has earned. The critical role of MSMEs in creating employment, preserving local skills and strengthening supply chains. He emphasised the vision of taking products manufactured across Uttar Pradesh beyond local markets and connecting them with buyers, investors, institutions and technology partners in India and abroad. The Chief Minister also launched the portal of the ODOC initiative, which brings Uttar Pradesh’s cuisine and cultural diversity into the marketplace. With international participation forming a major pillar of this edition, Shri Yogi Adityanath underlined, “This is the new Uttar Pradesh of a new India, a state that does not merely speak of possibilities, but delivers results.”

Shri Bhupendra Chaudhary, Hon’ble Cabinet Minister, MSME Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh, highlighted the expanding role of UPITS in taking the state’s MSMEs, entrepreneurs, artisans and district-based enterprises to larger domestic and international markets. With Uttar Pradesh home to over 1 Crore MSME units, he emphasised that UPITS is being developed as an instrument for creating market access, investment, exports and employment opportunities for enterprises across the state.

The 2026 edition spans sectors including agriculture, automobiles and EVs, defence, electronics and IT, food processing, textiles and handicrafts, healthcare and pharmaceuticals, tourism, renewable energy, logistics, education, financial services and emerging technologies, presenting visitors with a broad picture of Uttar Pradesh’s economic ecosystem.

The ceremonial opening quickly transitioned into business engagement. Day One featured the Chief Minister’s interaction with delegations from six partner countries; more than 280 international buyers participated in the first leg of the event. The Chief Minister had one-toone meetings with delegations from partner countries, led by their ambassadors and high commissioners, followed by the Chief Minister’s interaction with overseas buyers.

The partner-country framework has been designed to take international participation beyond pavilion displays. B2B meetings, Chief Minister-level interactions, country sessions and roundtables are facilitating direct conversations between overseas delegations and Uttar Pradesh’s businesses, while cultural performances, cuisine and country experiences add a people-to-people dimension to international trade.

The Russia–India Business Dialogue added a strong policy and industrial dimension to the opening day. The Russian representation included senior officials from the Trade Representation of the Russian Federation in India, including Mr. Andrey Sobolev, Trade Commissioner, and Dr. Evgeny Griva, Deputy Trade Commissioner. The dedicated session, “Russia–India: New Opportunities for Trade, Investment, and Economic Cooperation,” explored opportunities for deeper commercial engagement. Russia’s showcase brings together specialised capabilities spanning industrial technologies and gases, laboratory and diagnostic solutions, medical oxygen systems and business services, offering visitors a window into potential areas of industrial and technology cooperation.

Vietnam’s participation gave the international showcase a particularly diverse character. Its presence spans aviation, tourism, healthcare, agriculture, handicrafts, cultural products, pharmaceuticals, textiles and garments, electric vehicles and recycled fibre. During the roundtable engagement, the Vietnamese side was represented by H.E. Ambassador Mr. Trinh Minh Manh, alongside representatives from businesses and organisations including Vietnam Airlines, Vietjet and Vingroup, among others. The dedicated programme on “Vietnam: Innovation Technologies & Tourism” was followed by a Vietnam Food Festival and a performance by Vietnam’s cultural troupe, turning international engagement into an experience of business, tourism, cuisine and culture.

Across the exhibition halls, Day One reflected the extraordinary diversity that has become the identity of UPITS. Established manufacturers stood alongside MSMEs, startups, artisans, exporters, technology companies and young entrepreneurs, while visitors moved between traditional products and emerging technologies.

The ODOP showcase once again brought the distinctive products and craftsmanship of Uttar Pradesh’s districts into focus. Alongside it, ODOC made its presence felt as an exciting new dimension, presenting the culinary identity of the state as an economic opportunity rather than cuisine alone — connecting food heritage with hospitality, processing, tourism and branding.

CM YUVA added another layer to the entrepreneurial narrative, giving visibility to young enterprises and demonstrating how UPITS is increasingly becoming a platform not merely for established businesses but also for the next generation of job creators. The exhibition also reflects the growing prominence of women in the state’s business ecosystem, with around 300 women representatives participating during the five-day show.

As business meetings continued through the day, UPITS also opened a colourful window into Uttar Pradesh’s cultural identity. The inaugural-day cultural programme began on an auspicious note with Conch Blowing & Swasti Vachan by Rashmi Arya from Baghpat, followed by folk singing by Ms. Malvika Hariom from Lucknow, the vibrant Folk Dance of Mathura by Ms. Seema Morwal, a Kathak Dance Drama by Ms. Akanksha Shrivastava from Lucknow, and Bhajan Playback by Ms. Akanksha Tripathi from Kanpur/Mumbai. The cultural programme reinforced one of UPITS’ defining characteristics: business here is presented alongside the culture, craft, cuisine and traditions that give Uttar Pradesh its distinctive identity.

With knowledge sessions, country dialogues, international buyer interactions, B2B matchmaking, ODOP and ODOC showcases, youth entrepreneurship, cultural programmes and sector-specific exhibitions scheduled across five days, UPITS 2026 has opened with a proposition larger than a conventional trade exhibition.

UPITS 2026 continues at India Expo Centre & Mart, Greater Noida, until 29 September 2026.
