Mumbai, July 12, 2024 – UP Government and India Expo Centre & Mart organized a road show in the series of promotional activities of the Second UP International Trade Show, (UPITS 2024) on 12 July 2024 in the suburbs of Mumbai. Much-awaited UP International Trade Show 2024 was aggressively promoted to mark a significant milestone in the lead-up to the foremost trade event all across the country. UPITS 2024 is being organized by the Uttar Pradesh Government, in association with the India Expo Centre & Mart and is scheduled from September 25-29, 2024 at India Expo Centre & Mart in Greater Noida, Delhi – NCR.
Reflecting on the groundbreaking success of the inaugural UP International Trade Show (UPITS) 2023 which was inaugurated by Hon’ble President, Smt. Droupadi Murmu and attended by Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Shri Yogi Adityanath, the event underscored Uttar Pradesh’s emergence as a formidable force on the global stage, drawing over 500 foreign buyers, 70,000 domestic buyers, and attracting overall more than 300,000 visitors. Emphasizing the state’s commitment to the ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ vision, the success stories of schemes like One District, One Product (ODOP) were shared, showcasing a significant leap in exports and job creation, steering Uttar Pradesh towards the goal of becoming a trillion-dollar economy as envisioned by Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi which sets up a concrete ground for the second edition of UPITS.
Senior government officials from Uttar Pradesh graced the event, including Shri. Alok Kumar, IAS, Principal Secretary, MSME & Export Promotion, Handloom & Textile & Khadi & Gramodyog Deptt., Govt. of U.P.; Shri. Rajesh Kumar, IAS, Commissioner & Director, Directorate for Promotion of Industries and Enterprises, Government of UP; Shri. Raj Kamal Yadav, IAS, Additional Commissioner, Directorate for Promotion of Industries and Enterprises, Government of UP; and Shri. Pawan Agarwal, Joint Commissioner (Export), Export Promotion Bureau, Government of UP. Shri. Rakesh Kumar, Chairman, India Exposition Mart Ltd. was also present at the dais along with the other dignitaries and officers.
Shri Alok Kumar, IAS, Principal Secretary, Department of MSME & Export Promotion, Handloom & Textile & Khadi & Gramodyog Dept., Govt. of U.P., while addressing the event lauded Uttar Pradesh’s economic landscape by highlighting the state’s status as India’s most populous state and its significant contribution to the national GDP. He emphasized the state’s commitment to ease of doing business and its ambitious growth targets. He urged international partners to actively promote UPITS 2024 within their networks, inviting them to extend personalized invitations to buyers, sourcing agents, retailers, and key industry influencers from their respective countries or regions. He also encouraged the organization of business delegations to attend the trade show and requested assistance in reaching out to traders, investors and businessmen across the states and countries.
Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Chairman, India Exposition Mart Ltd., as the Joint organizer of the event, provided thoughtful insights about this one-of-a-kind trade show in Uttar Pradesh. He stated that Uttar Pradesh has always had potential and is confident of emerging as a world leader in terms of trade and industry. He highlighted the State’s movement towards self-reliance and a trillion-dollar economy, joining other States and Countries in catering to their export demands. Dr. Kumar invited people to the spectacular event, emphasizing the opportunity for impeccable sourcing and the chance to learn more about the new global sourcing hub.
Shri Rajesh Kumar, IAS, Commissioner & Director, Directorate for Promotion of Industries and Enterprises, Government of UP, in his welcome speech, stated that UPITS 2024 marks a significant achievement as the inaugural all-encompassing platform to display the complete range of products and industries throughout Uttar Pradesh. The event fulfils an essential requirement for a specialized platform at both international and national levels, facilitating connections between businesses in Uttar Pradesh and worldwide purchasers, thereby promoting expansion and innovation. He expressed confidence that UPITS 2024 would meet and exceed collective expectations.
Shri Pawan Agarwal, Joint Commissioner (Export), Export Promotion Bureau, Government of UP, delivered a vote of thanks.
