Curtains Raised for the Second Edition of UP International Trade Show

The second edition of the UP International Trade Show (UPITS) 2024 was unveiled at a grand curtain-raiser event held on February 8, 2024, at Lok Bhawan in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. The event was graced by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Sh. Yogi Adityanath, and other senior officials, including former Chief Secretary Durga Shankar Mishra and former Additional Chief Secretary of MSME, Amit Mohan Prasad. The Department of MSME & Export Promotion, in collaboration with India Exposition Mart Ltd. (IEML), organized the gathering, setting the stage for the upcoming trade show scheduled for September 25-29, 2024, at the India Expo Centre & Mart, Greater Noida.

In his address, CM Yogi Adityanath reflected on the success of the inaugural UPITS 2023, which attracted over 500 foreign buyers, 70,000 domestic buyers, and more than 300,000 visitors. He emphasized the potential of Uttar Pradesh’s artisans and craftsmen, urging entrepreneurs to participate in the 2024 edition. He also highlighted the government’s support for MSMEs and the growth seen under initiatives like the One District, One Product (ODOP) scheme, which boosted the state’s exports from ₹86,000 crores to ₹2 lakh crores. The Chief Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to generating employment and transforming Uttar Pradesh into a trillion-dollar economy.

Rakesh Sachan, Minister of MSME, Khadi, Village Industries, and Textile, shared that Uttar Pradesh has 96 lakh MSMEs and the state government has launched 25 schemes for their growth. He announced a proposed allocation of ₹1,000 crore for interest-free loans to support youth entrepreneurship.

The curtain raiser attracted a diverse audience, with senior officials, trade associations, and business leaders expressing enthusiasm for the forthcoming UPITS 2024.
